I should first clarify something.
My wisdom teeth were cut out, CUT I said. They never surfaced and hid under my gums and angled really weirdly. They were cut out and people seem to think when I say "cut" I mean "removal" and as such, have different ideas on how it was removed.
They're in a nice box now sitting there for as long as I keep them...or forget where I put them.
Anyways, I got my wisdom teeth removed on a Friday. Not yesterday's then I'd still be recovering, it was last week's Friday. I want to thank all my family and friends for being supportive while I was in my knocked out state. Oh, and my bloaty state too. My puffy face was darn funny. XD
Anyways, my knocked out state, hm...maybe I should make it fainting state. I was really faint from the drugs they'd given me and lack of food in my systems. I really didn't eat much after the surgery, only the pain killers they prescribed to me and a ton of water. I had to change my ice pack since it melted between less than and four hours. I was a bit groggy, but I do know my dad helped me change them as well as my brother.
Anyways, during the times I was awake I didn't eat much since it was hard and my mind was groggy. I even attempted to go back to classes on the coming Monday, which was a bad idea. I survived my first class barely, but had no more energy for the others since I ended up almost fainting. I couldn't even take a bath without almost fainting, but I think that one was due to hunger.
Yeah, hunger. I couldn't eat much, which now that I think about it, it was more like I couldn't stomach much. My body felt too tired, but it knew I had limited energy and needed to replenish that energy. I mean, I even ended up crying, CRYING, one night and the only reason I could come up with is that it was my body telling me to eat more. Not much could go through my mouth anyway. I had mostly liquid foods and mostly drank water. Water helps, but doesn't satisfy, the hunger. It was only tempoarily appeased it until I could get knocked out again.
I didn't cry only from hunger though, there was also this pain on the my face's right side. Which led to the conclusion my right side seems to attract a lot of pain for being my dominant side. So troublesome. XP
There was pain, which was what the pain medicine was for. I was pretty much knocked out and rested. I know I saw people who came over and wish I could have stayed awake longer for them, but I ended up sleeping most of the time. MY body felt heavy and cold, I wore layers and three blankets in an attempt to get warm. My face was burning hot though and the puffy cheeks were proof.
Puffy cheeks were okay, but the weren't supposed to be swelled for the amount of time I had them. So, we went to the doctors and he looked them over. I ended up with even stronger pain medication (which knocked me out, but only for a little while since my body got used to it) and antibiotics as a precaution.
Overall, I didn't like my wisdom teeth removal aftermath. Why? I had to skip a week of school. This wouldn't be a big deal, if it was a bit EARLIER in the semester or AFTER the semester.
WHY DID PEOPLE HAVE TO RESCHEDULE TO FIT THEIR SCHEDULES??!! WHAT ABOUT ME?! I'M THE ONE WHO WAS THREATENED AND GUILT TRIPPED THIS WHOLE FRIKKIN SEMESTER ON BEING SURE TO GET FRIKKIN GOOD GRADES!!!
My point? When a dentist suggests the removal of your wisdom teeth, be sure to have it scheduled during a week long break or at a time convenient to you. Not that it matters much, everyone has different experiences. My experience just inconvenienced me. I mean, there was a friend who had the same operation on the same day as me (different place though) and he was fine on Monday. I'm just unlucky. Not that I didn't expect it, I was actually expecting it too.
Now if everyone will excuse me, I will not go and feel around my mouth for the dissolving stitches and strings. I do not want to eat more of them accidentally and I'm pretty sure I did while sleeping.
